  Radial Flow System for Cell-based Exposure

 

Design and handling

• One modular system for 6.5 mm, 12 mm and 24 mm cell culture inserts as well as 36 mm Petri dishes (Ames assay). Use of commercially available cell culture inserts (COSTAR® and Falcon®) based on a flexible adapter system

• Manufactured from boron silicate glass, polished stainless steel, silicone and PEEK

• All components are autoclavable

• Integration of the module into a specially designed rack system for higher stability and comfortable handling

• Exchangeable emission ducts according to the cell culture insert type chosen

• Tight connection to the aerosol guiding module by a specially designed locking device

• Efficient connection to the generation device for the test atmosphere via the central aerosol inlet

• Easy loading of the three positions by moving the sampling module on the rack system

• Cell culture maintenance

• Adjusted medium level

• Controlled medium flow under each cell culture insert

• Static, intermittent or continuous medium supply of the cultures via individual in- and outlets for each cell culture insert • Integrated water heating circuit, controlled by an external water bath

  Advanced Long-Term Cultivation(LTC-C)

 

Design and handling

• Operation of the CULTEX® LTC under cell-specific conditions inside a CO2 incubator

• Control unit outside the CO2 incubator

• Preheating of the fresh medium by a heat exchanger in the control unit

• Air bubble precipitator

• All cell or medium housing components of the system are autoclavable

 

Performance

• Requires less manual work and saves manpower

• Continuous as well as intermittent medium supply of the cultures

• Computer-controlled medium exchange (volume fractions or the total volume of the incubator module)

• Computer-controlled circulation of the medium via a mixing disc

• Control of the medium level by an ultrasonic pulse-echo sensor
